Show went awesome. The New Direction was awesome as always. Tiny Moving Parts, It Came From The Sea, Ceiling Walker, and Benefactor all played awesome.

We are now in Omaha after a 6 hour drive, our drummer’s parents let us crash at their house and made beds for all 5 of us! Soooo nice. Nate’s brother graduates tomorrow, so I guess congraduations is in order.. / / dsaerr3

It happened to be in Mandan, which is about 7 miles from Biz at a place called O.N.E. The Venue was super nice and we got to play our good friends It Came From The Sea’s CD release show! They are a great band and great dudes. We’re playing with them tomorrow as well!

Also, we got free pizza at A+B Pizza. So good.

2012 in Review.

This last year has been crazy.

Our best friend moved back from Oregon to play guitar.
We went through a blazer, a 89 econoline, and finally landed in something that seems to work well.
We put out an EP in March that we now only have about a hundred copies of.
We traveled over 15,000 miles this summer and slept in the weirdest places and met some of the nicest and the weirdest people.
We played with a ton of bands and made friends with so many bands that share the same passion as we do.
Had about 99 technical issues with our gear, which is currently still on our minds.
Went through the craziest heat with no ac, traffic jams, tornadoes, and storms upon storms.

Through the sweat and stench, this has been the best year for us. We’re still progressing and always changing the more shows we play and the more experiences we have.

Thank you to whoever reads this, it means a ton. We’re excited that we made it through the year and are really exited for the next.

In January we will be recording our full length record with our friend Jeremy from All Poetic Audio. We are really excited to spend a week with the guy, since he has been a personal friend of ours for a long time now. We have about 8 new songs written and are re-recording two old songs.

Plans have changed recently. In January we will be going into the studio to record our new 5 song EP with All Poetic Audio (Audio Engineer, Jeremy Schaeffer) and are pressing it to vinyl. We have about half of the album already funded and are working on pre-production in early november.

We are not going to be doing any fundraisers, but we still have about $950 dollars to come up. If you’d like we have a bunch of merch on sale and will have more coming soon. http://wearelighthouses.bigcartel.com/

So, we it’s august.

Finally have a month completely off.

Even though we all miss the hell out of playing shows it does feel decent recouping so we can hit it hard.

We do not have any shows set up until January.

We are going to go record in December at All Poetic Audio in Scotland, SD with our good friend Jeremy. We played with his band countless times a ways back, he is a great guy and a great engineer so we are stoked to work with him.

Also in October or November we will be doing pre-production, so get stoked on updates! haha

I’m exited about everything. It’s going to be nuts.

Well, last night’s show was awesome.

We played Be Here Now in Muncie, Indiana with Hiatus Flux and The Assembled. Both bands were super awesome dudes, so it was a great time just even getting to hang out with them.

We are in Davenport, IA playing the River Music Experience once again. Hopefully this time will be better than last time we were here. Last time we were here we got into a fight with a sloppy metalcore band that was completely drunk. They basically almost ran over Ben [from Tierra Park] and almost hit our trailer. It was a trainwreck, none of those guys should have been driving at all.

Tomorrow we are getting our 20 free burritos from the Chipolte in Omaha, then playing The Kitchen on 30th and Leavenworth! I hope it goes well! We’re super stoked to finally play with 13th Year!

After that we are going home, then cruise night. Woop.
And after that we have a show on the 31st and then summer is done.

Today’s show went well,

we played in Dekalb, IL with Richardson Richardson and a bunch of rad locals.

It was a crazy show, the space was sweet as well!

Right now it is 7am and we just got into Nate Skinner’s cousins house in Indianapolis.
I cannot sleep due to the energy drinks so i’m sitting here typing this and looking and some stuff. Welp.

Milwaukee was amazing.
The dude’s at The Paper Trail were super nice, I’m super glad that their DIY scene is just so awesome and it’s a refreshing feeling everytime going there when everyone is just genuine and such nice people.

We played again with Treehouse and Knowing I’ll Never Grow Up, both were great and I hope to see them soon!

We also stayed with Lenny from Faulter and he was the coolest dude ever. I got to nerd out with him about screenprinting stuff, which made the day awesome.

Mason City had a small mall with bad chinese food, but they did have a cool skatepark/venue!

Also right now we are in Cedar Falls, staying at our friend Jordan’s house. Nevil from Gored is getting checked up at a hospital, because we think he has bronchitis. It kind of reminds me of our first time going out in March with this new line up and I think four out of the five of us got home and were sick. Hopefully he gets better soon!

Tonight is Dekalb, IL. Wish us luck!

Cedar Falls was great!

Had fun hanging out with all of our friends we met last time we played here and met a bunch of new people that were super awesome.

We played with Knowing I’ll Never Grow Up and Treehouse, which we are doing the next two days with. We also played with a local called Offend Me which were great!

Today is Milwaukee! Hell yeah.

Well, we’re in Omaha.
We played our good friend Michael’s birthday yesterday, which we jumped on less than about 4 hours before the house show. It went awesome! I’m glad everything was great and we made a few new friends out of the show!

Now we are heading to Cedar Falls, IA and playing the space. The next three days we are playing with a band called Knowing We’ll Never Grow Up from SLC. They rule and I’m pumped to see them!

We also picked up a friend that is going to tag along for the next 7 days with us. His name is Paul Knapp. He has toured with us before with his band Tierra Park, so i’m stoked to get to hang out with him for a week! It’s going to be awesome.

Well fargo was great,

we played at The New Direction.

It is one of our favorite venues, everyone that runs it and is in the fargo scene is amazing. Everyone we have ever played with from fargo has became great friends with us, so it’s awesome we get to see them and play shows at the same time.

Also it was Kory and my [nate] birthday! We got free gelato, spicy pie, and hooters! It was awesome!!

ALSO! today was awesome!

We played with Skies and Nightmare Paradox.

We’ve been friends with both of the bands for awhile now so it’s awesome to get a chance to play with both of them again! It was a fun show!

Nate skinners parents also made us tons of pizza. Hell yeah!

Right now we all need to sleep, because most of us are getting tattooed on our day off haha. Night errbody.
